Proud to Be: Our Story as a Couple Behind Norshire Company

This year, we’re incredibly proud to be attending Torfaen Pride as Norshire Company and not just as makers of home fragrance, but as a couple who built a business together from scratch.

For those of you who don’t know us personally we’re Tony and Martin, partners in life and in business. Norshire started with a simple idea in our kitchen, born from a love of crafting, scent, and creating things that bring warmth and comfort into people’s homes. But it also started with us—a shared dream to create something meaningful, something that reflected who we are.

Working Together, Building Together

Running a business together has its challenges, of course—we’ve had late nights, candle spills, market-day madness, and a few disagreements over which fragrance to launch next! But more than anything, it’s brought us closer. We’ve learned to trust each other’s instincts, balance our strengths, and find joy in the little milestones: the first online sale, a glowing review, a customer returning to tell us they loved our products.

Our brand is rooted in craftsmanship, honesty, and heart—and we like to think that comes through in everything we do. Norshire is personal. It’s ours—not just in ownership, but in soul.

Why Pride Matters

We know that visibility matters. Being able to stand proudly as a couple in business—especially in the world of independent retail—is something we don’t take for granted. Pride is more than a celebration. It’s a reminder of how far we’ve come and why we keep showing up: for ourselves, for those who came before us, and for anyone looking to feel seen, safe, and celebrated.

Torfaen Pride is an amazing local event, and we’re thrilled to be a part of it. We’ll be there with our full range candles, wax melts, reed diffusers (and now room sprays too!)—but we’ll also be there simply as two people proud of who we are, and of what we’ve built together.
